My Story

Why I'm passionate about working with nonprofits: From my background in banking and finance, my breast cancer diagnosis at age 32 had a profound impact on my life and family. After 20 years in corporate life, I found myself on a new personal and professional journey—to educate, advocate, and positively impact young women in Orange County on the importance of early detection. Susan G. Komen Orange County provided me with all the tools and support for my newfound journey in the nonprofit space. That’s where my professional path transformed. I parlayed my expertise in finance and operations to support and give back to Susan G. Komen OC, as well as a succession of breast cancer nonprofits. I became passionate about making a meaningful impact in the lives of everyone I met. Currently, in my role as an accounting consultant with Fohrman & Fohrman, I now have the opportunity to make a greater impact working across different sectors of nonprofits that continue to fuel my passion.

My Music Story

In 2021, I began working diligently on my personal growth. This led me to explore creative outlets—one in particular: music, through playing the flute. The last time I played, I was an awkward and bashful teenager, and it seemed silly to think I could remember a single note. But I found an instructor who was a perfect fit for me; her encouragement and ability to believe in me gave me immense HOPE in my life—something that had been missing for at least a couple of decades. I practiced diligently, and before I knew it, I was performing at my first recital. Playing the flute has reconnected me with my creative self—the part that provides necessary balance in my life. My music teacher(s) have played an even greater role in my personal growth journey.
